How a Challenge Circle works
- Step 1
Pick one thing
A habit you do every day, a goal you add up together, or kindness you log whenever it happens. Choose 30, 60, or 90 days.
- Step 2
Send the link
Share it in any chat. Up to 25 people, you included. Friends install the app and land in your circle.
- Step 3
Check in and cheer
Everyone checks in their own way each day. Tap Cheer when a friend shows up. That is the whole thing.
Three kinds of challenge
- HabitConsistency
Do the same small thing every day. Walk 20 minutes. Read 10 pages. Lights out by 11.
- GoalMilestones you can see
Add up to a number together, like 90 servings of vegetables, and watch the circle pass each marker.
- KindnessLog it whenever
No daily deadline. Each time someone does something kind, they log it and the circle sees it.
Every circle checks in one way, chosen by the organizer:
- Tap
- Stopwatch
- Timestamp
- Number
- Short note
Your friends join free
Only the organizer needs a membership. Everyone else downloads the app, opens your link, and they are in. Joining, checking in, cheering, and the circle chat cost your friends nothing.
Free members can join circles. Starting a new circle of your own needs a membership.
What friends see, and what they don't
They see
- Your circle check-ins
- Cheers
- Your motto, next to your name
- The circle chat, until the challenge ends
They never see
- How your day went
- Your nightly notes
- Your other habits or goals
- Any ranking. There is none.
Want a check-in to stay private? Turn off “Show to my circle” and it counts for you without being shown.
Ideas for your first circle
Pick something small enough to do on a bad day. These work well:
- Walk 20 minutes
- No phone in bed
- Read 10 pages
- Water before coffee
- Lights out by 11
- Up by 5:00
- Vegetables at dinner
- One kind thing a day
Why a finish line helps
“Forever” is a hard thing to sign up for. Thirty days is not. Every circle has an end date, so your friends know exactly what they are saying yes to. When it ends, everyone sees how the circle did, the chat clears, and the organizer can run it again with the same group.
Missing a day doesn't knock anyone out. There is no penalty and no ranking. You just check in again tomorrow.

Common questions
Is it free for my friends?
Yes. Joining a circle and checking in are free. Only the person who starts the circle needs a membership.
How many people can join?
Up to 25 people, including you.
Do my friends need an iPhone?
No. HealthBrew is on iPhone and Android.
Can I do a challenge alone?
Yes. Start a circle and keep it to yourself. You get the same check-ins and the same end date, just without the cheers.
What are the three kinds of challenge?
Habit is about consistency: the same small thing every day. Goal is about milestones you can see: the circle adds up to a number together. Kindness has no daily deadline: you log it whenever it happens.
How do people check in?
The organizer picks one: a single tap, a stopwatch, a timestamp, a number, or a short note.
Can people see my other habits or journal?
No. Circle members see circle check-ins, cheers, and the motto you choose to show next to your name. Never your day, your nightly notes, or your other goals.
What happens to the chat?
Each circle has one chat. It clears when the challenge ends.
Is there a leaderboard?
No. There are no rankings. Just check-ins and cheers.
Can I run it again?
Yes. When a challenge ends, the organizer can run it again with the same group.
